Happy New Year!

I just like to say a very Happy New Year to all my followers!

2010 has been a very happy year and I am looking forward to even more fun times with my friends in 2011.
I shall be blogging and tweeting but most of all I am hoping that I will be walking, running around and going on lots of holidays with my Mum and Dad in 2011.

Some new faces to my blog...

Hello regular blog readers!  I just thought I might put a couple of pictures of some new faces up on my blog.
The first is one new doggy and one little person who has already starred in my blog before..... it's Bailey the dog and my good friend Lewis.  Bailey is my pal Brody's brother and Lewis is his owner.  They both look cheeky to me!

Here is another new doggy, he's called Ben.  I haven't actually met him but he belongs to my Mum's friend Simon and his family.  He looks might intelligent to me!!

I have been 'off roading'

You see, because it's very snowy here in Yorkshire we have been walking around the block so much coz the fields are too deep.  Anyway, Mum got fed up of always walking round the block and she said to me; "Come on Monkey, let's go down the fields!"  I was very excited to go off roading coz I hate the salt on my paws, it gets stingly.
We set off down the fields but Mum quickly realised that it was very deep and it wasn't going to be an easy time.    I found it was lots of fun coz I am a Paw Wheel Drive... look at my videos to see how I can go off roading! (please excuse Mum's commentary!)

Benny and Stella

Recently I met some new friends, they are two Border Terriers called Benny and Stella.  I met them when I was out walking with my Mum and usually see them when their Dad (he's called John) is going up the lane when we are going down.
Benny is a bit younger than me and he's friendly and quite calm, Stella is a little girl and is only 7 months old - I fink I lurve her!!  She's very giddy though and usually rushes up to me, gives me big licks and bounces about a lot.
Here is Benny asking Mum what it in her pocket (you can see me licking my lips and Stella is listening for sneaky thieves!)

Here is Stella trying her luck with the treat pocket and Benny is already eating his biccy!
I have got to say that they also have a big brother called Frank who is a German Shepherd, he's an old boy and was a bit grumpy with me coz I rushed up to see him.. anyway I'll post a pic of him next time I see him coz he's a nice old boy really.

By 'eck tis grim up north!

Thank goodness i didnt get my autumn strip this year!

My new cousin!

May i introduce Jake! He is a rescue boy who has chosen my grandma to rescue him. He's giving her a two week trial and if he likes living with her he thinks he'll stay! I haven't met him yet coz grandma lives far away but i'm sending him a welcome lick!

update.... seems like he's settling in!

Rosie is Top Dog

Mum met Rosie the springer when she went to a meeting. Rosie has broken through the glass ceiling and holds an executive position, she is director of snacks and treats!  Can you see the blue bin?  It's where Rosie does the filing of important snacks.  Can you also see how she is smiling for the camera?  She is very clever indeed.
Here she is with her own Mum in her office.  Her Mum (Shirley) is doing a brilliant thing soon, she's going to Nepal to help with a community project which builds houses.  That's really brilliant and a great thing to do.
By the way Rosie and Shirley both work for SICL Ltd - they are a brilliant company who do lots of technical things in IT and they also do some fun things like driving fast cars on their days off, and they do some nice things like give lots of money to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Check out their link on my blog, this is where you can find out about Rosie's Mum going to Nepal too.
Keep up the good work Rosie, make sure all the people at SICL give you lots of treats and keep them in order!  Good luck in Nepal Shirley!

I got a pressy!

Today the postman brought me a pressy!  I had a fantastic time opening the packet...

Then I discovered it was 2 rubber bones. Mum let me have the blue one and she said that cousin April might like the orange one.
They came from a nice man called John who has just opened his first on-line pet shop and thought he would do some unashamed advertising on my blog by giving me an award...  At first Mum thought he was a bit cheeky but then they had a chinwag and she saw that he was a very nice man and was just trying hard to be a success.  So, she doesn't normally do this kind of fing but she is askin you to have a peek at his little shop and perhaps give him a try (you can click the award and it will take you to his shop).
Fanx for my bone John, it do be super doops and I haven't left it alone all afternoon.

I had a nice holidays..

The other week we went on a holidays with Uncle Ian and Aunty Barbara (which meant that Brodie and Promise came too).  We went to the Lake District and stayed in a barn, it was great coz I got to share my noms with Brodie and Prom and we had a log fire!
It did rain quite a bit but it didn't stop us going for some good walks, fink Dad was sad that he couldn't go fishing  though.  One day I took Uncle (bionic) Ian and Brodie up a really big hill called Ullock Pike, his new ankle and knee were really bionic and he nearly was running back down the other side (perhaps it was coz he was finking of beer or sloe gin or something).

It was the highest that Brodie had been ever and he had a great time even when it rained the whole time.

When we got back the sun came out!  Mum, Dad and Uncle Ian drank some beers in the sun on the patio while we doggies had a rest.

Mind you, Promise had been resting all day with Aunty Barbara!  Just look at Promise trying her best to hide in my bed!

When we got home it was ace coz Mum and Dad were still not going to work for the rest of the week, so we had more big walks near home.  One day we walked a long way on the canal bank, we were about half way 'there' when Uncle Ian, Brodie and Buster turned up!  Then we went to a cafe and us dogs got some noms.  On the way back we came across a border terrier called Ruby, she is really teeny and I like her (her dad said something about her having my babies - coz he thought I was handsome!)

Two Women, Two Dogs...

Two women were out for a Saturday stroll. One had a Doberman and the other, a Chihuahua .. As they walked down the street, the one with the Doberman Said to her friend, "Let's go over to that bar for a drink."
The lady with the Chihuahua said, "We can't go in there. We've got dogs with us."
The one with the Doberman said, "Just watch, and do as I do."
They walked over to the bar and the one with the Doberman put On a pair of dark glasses and started to walk in.

The bouncer at the door said, "Sorry, lady, no pets allowed."
The woman with the Doberman said, "You don't understand. This is my seeing-eye dog."
The bouncer said, "A Doberman?"
The woman said, "Yes, they're using them now. They're very good."
The bouncer said, "OK, come on in."
The lady with the Chihuahua thought that convincing him that a Chihuahua was a seeing-eye dog may be a bit more difficult, but thought,
"What the heck," so she put on her dark glasses and started to walk in.
Once again the bouncer said, "Sorry, lady, no pets allowed."
The woman said, "You don't understand. This is my seeing-eye dog."
The bouncer said, "A Chihuahua?"
The woman with the Chihuahua said ...

"A Chihuahua? They gave me a f*%@#g Chihuahua ?!"

Funny Business....

Mmm when we got back from our caravan weekend there was something funny going on with my toys...
Fink they have been having a good time - naughty teddy moo moo and teddy small ted!

Bank Holiday!

Been to a new caravan site with Mum and Dad. Aunty Shell and Uncle Mark came too with their doggies... they've got 3 doggies now!! They still got Millie, then they got Barney and now they got Molly. Molly is another rescued lab who was abandoned, she had a few problems but it's nothing that Aunty Shell can't sort out! She had a special sock on her front paw coz she broke a toe when she ran for a ball really fast and skidded - she's silly but it's mending now... I gave her a special 'Mr Mo mending lick'.

We went for some ace walks. The place was called Skipwith and it was not very far from where we live so that was good coz I didn't have to stay in the car for long. There is a place called 'Skipwith Common' and there were some funky looking cows (Mum said they were long horn cows, probably coz they had long horns!). Mum noticed that some of their horns were pointy up and some were pointy down, she mentioned this to Dad and he said it was coz of the weather - fink Mum believed him but we won't tell her!!

On Sunday it was Millie's birthday, Mum made her a card from me and I gave her a packet of Doggy do-nuts... she's special coz no-one gets their paws on my doggy do-nuts usually!

Anyway, we had a nice weekend - hope we can do it again soon.

here are some pics of us doggies..

Busy life

I have such a busy old life you know... which is why I haven't blogged for a while. Take today, for example, first of all I went for a doggy joggy with Mum, then after some breakfast I had a good old sniff round my garden and made sure Mum had fed all the birds. I had a bit of a kip while Mum did some boring work in her office. Then another sniff about in the garden while she had some sarnies. Then we went to the allotment and Uncle Ian's house. While Mum was busy in the allotment doing stuff what humans do I was busy in Ian's garden sniffing and running about with Brody and Buster - Promise made sure we all behaved.

While Mum and Ian had a teabreak we all went in the house and I gave Promise a good clean... I like to lick her ears, feet, teeth and bottom... she likes it too! After Mum and Ian had a tea break I took Mum and Buster for a walk. Buster hasn't been with me and Mum down the lane before and he was a bit confused about how to walk with a lead on. Anyway eventually we got down the lane and he could have a really long run, really fast. Buster is staying at Uncle Ian's for the rest of this year coz his mum and dad have gone off travelling round the world! He's really happy to be living at Ian's coz he's got his pack of friends and he gets spoilt by the humans.

Gone Fishing.... with Kurtis!

Today Dad went fishing with his mates; Andy Foot, Kev and Kurtis. Now, I've never met Kurtis before so after I'd helped Mum with the gardening (she needed me to help rearrange my toys round the lawn and to bite some sticks up) I decided I ought to go round to the pond and see if Dad was catching big fish and meet Kurtis.

They were all having a good time and had caught some fish despite the wind being in the wrong direction and the sun being too shiny (and other such fisherman's excuses!). Kurtis is really ace, he's a small human and belongs to Uncle Kev. He really, really, really likes dogs and most animals except cats coz he's allergic and they're pesky. Mum let Kurtis take me for a walk (she came too to show him the way), and I was amazing coz I didn't shout at the cars going over the bridge (I was showing Kurtis how cool I am) and I found a half a football - well I always say half a ball is better than none.
We went back to the fishing and Kurtis caught a small perch and I licked it before he put it back - he thinks I'm crazy but it's what I like to do.. just lick 'em and put 'em back.
Mum took Kurtis to see the chickens and while we were there Uncle Ian let him take Brody and Promise up the field....I waited in the car and supervised from there! Brody gave Kurtis a bit of a run around but I think he enjoyed it anyway (Brody was so fast Mum couldn't even get him on the photo - so here are a couple with Kurtis and Promise on).

Hope Kurtis comes to our place again sometime, I think he's really good fun.

Brody can swim!!

This is a bit of a retro-blog coz it happened about a fortnight ago.... I went fishing with Mum and Dad and Uncle Ian. Dad and Uncle Ian started fishing and Mum said she'd take me and Brody for a walk first to make sure we didn't get giddy.

Any way, we walked up the canal and I always like a swim at a certain place so I was busy getting ready for a dip when busy body Brody muscled in on the scene. He's only just gone a year old so he hasn't had a proper swim yet even though he practices a lot in Uncle Ian's pond (Aunty Barbara goes mad coz she thinks that he'll scare the fishes and coz he gets stinky and runs in the house!).

Any ways - here is a little film of Brody swimming round in a circle.

By the way, Mum never got to do fishing coz when Brody finished swimming there had been a flippin big barge on the canal and it spoilt the fishing - Dad was fuming!

Been on short jollyday

Hello to you blog friends! I have been on a short easter jollydays wiv Mum and Dad in our caravan. It's new and bigger and shinier than the old one!! I did have more space to stretch out and it was really cosy - one night I even managed to sleep under their bed!

We did go for some nice walks everyday, not far and not up big hills but Dad really needed to chill out coz he's been hectic at work.

Any ways, we had a nice time and even Uncle Ian and Aunty Barbara did come over and see us one evening coz we wasn't far from home - that was good coz I got extra fusses :-)

Am sleek and tidy

Well, I knew it was going to happen soon, it's that time of year again. The sun came out last week and after a walk wiv Mum I was a bit 'le puff le pant' (do you remember Pepe le Pew? le puff, le pant?) - hot and bovvered. So, today....... I got stripped! Only took Mum and hour and a half - a record! I got a bit fed up and tried sitting on Mum's hands a few times but she bribed me wiv some tiny treats.
Here I am before......

and after.......

Brody is 1...

Happy Birthday for last Thursday Brody! He is so lucky coz he got this giant teddy to savage for his first birthday. I got him a pack of giant pigs ears.
He is such a sharing dog, here he is sharing his giant bear wiv Buster..... wonder when he will share his pigs ears wiv me?!

Terrible Two!!

The West Cowick posse grew last year and I've been waiting for some pics of these two...
Jasper and Bertie live in the middle of the village, (not far from Uncle Ian) with their Dad (David) and Mum (Carol). I love to meet up with them in the fields (prairie lands) or down the other fields (down t'ings) or anywhere so long as we can have a good run about. If we meet up in the village we just spent ages making a tangle of leads to annoy the hoomans!!Anyway, Jasper (little Jasps - do not confuse him with big Jazzy J who is considerably bigger!) is black and white and is really fast at running and likes to be brave and bossy. Bertie is brown and white and we say... "why the long face Bertie?" to him every time we meet him!! He is cheeky and not as bossy but he can also run fast - especially when his Dad isn't looking!

They are brothers. When I first met them they were really, really small and Mum wanted to steal them in her pocket. Now they are just really small, coz they have grown a bit and are nearly full sized even though they are still puppies really. Fink Mum still wants to steal them in her pocket!Anyway, welcome to the posse Little Jasps and Bertie - we finks you are cool and funny!
See how Jasps has a 'special' ear like I do (if you notice on every picture he is using his 'listener' to listen for action) and how Bertie not only has a bit of a long face but he has a sneeky look in his eye.... he is finkin 'don't mess wiv me'!

My new best mate!

This week I made a new best friend. He is called Lewis and he is cool coz he's got a cool hat with many badges on it.
Lewis is six like me and we fink that being six is the bestest thing. I met Lewis at Uncle Ian's house, he was there with 2 other boys (it's funny coz they don't call him Uncle Ian, they call him Grandad!). Anyway, the other boys were really not as much fun as Lewis coz they just kept looking at small square things with wires coming out of them making beep beep noises and they didn't want to go for a walk. They didn't even like licks!
Lewis took me for 2 walks... we went into the fields and Lewis tried out my Mum's whistles, one of them makes a noise wot dogs like and the other one makes a noise like Thomas the Tank Engine - this is what Lewis finked anyway!

We did also go for a walk round the 'big block' coz it was raining and Mum didn't want everyone to get all muddy and messy. Lewis tried running a bit with me and I liked it. Lewis has got a dog of his own, he is called Bailey and he is Brody's brother so he is quite young and he pulls on his lead. Bailey didn't stop at Uncle Ian's but I met him on Sunday.
Me and Mum finks that Lewis is a great new friend and we finks he is unique!! Fanks for taking me for nice walks Lewis - hope you are Uncle Ians (I mean Grandad's) again soon.

Secrets and Promise!

pssst...............

I am SIX!

I been a bit busy this weekend being six... yup I had a birfday and so did Dad so it's been great fun!

Dad got all sorts of pressies, I really liked the look of one in particular - it was a book all about keeping chickens! Fink I might get some fun if Dad gets some chucks... mmm but I do like a scrambled egg so perhaps I'd best be good...

I got a new ball wiv a fluffy squeeker attached, it was fun for a bit then the fluffy squeeker came off and I had two toys! I also got some new noms (I did learn that noms is the word for treats.. Marley and Lola say noms and all their friends say noms, so I say noms now).. any way my new noms are yum. I had to lie down and chillax at the top of the stairs after I ate lots of them (see above).

I love being six, it's great... Dad doesn't like being 43 but I still lick him very much x

Bear Hugs!

One of my good friends, Steve Manning (check out his dog friendly B&B at http://www.primrosebb.co.uk/), sent me these amazing pictures of a polar bear having an encounter with some dogs in frozen Canada.

Polar Bear: I come in Peace... Norbert Rosing ' s striking images of a wild polar bear coming upon tethered sled dogs in the wilds of Canada's Hudson Bay . The photographer was sure that he was going to see the end of his dogs when the polar bear wandered in.

It ' s hard to believe that this polar bear only needed to hug someone!
The Polar Bear returned every night that week to play with the dogs…

even so, am glad there are only friendly bears here - check out Marley and Lola's blog to see their bears in the garden!!
